چکیده

The impedance spectra of Li-ion batteries as a function of the number of charge–discharge cycles have been measured to study the cycle life of the commercial Li-ion battery (prismatic Sanyo UF653467) during cycling at 1 C charge–discharge rate. The individual electrodes in the batteries have been examined using XRD, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and SEM. The results show that the Nyquist plots of commercial lithium-ion batteries are comprised of an inductive tail at high frequency followed by two semicircles at medium and low frequencies. The size of the semicircles at low frequency increase during cycling due to the increase in interfacial resistances of both cathode and anode. Thus, it may be used to predict the cycle life of the battery. XRD, TEM and SEM studies of the individual electrodes show that the cation disorder, microcracks of the LiCoO2 particles in the cathode and the increase in thickness of the passive film on the anode due to the reduction of the electrolyte are linked to the capacity fade of the battery during cycling. # 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Development of Lifetime Prediction Model of Lithium-Ion Battery Based on Minimizing Prediction Errors of Cycling and Operational Time Degradation Using Genetic Algorithm

Accurate lifetime prediction of lithium-ion batteries is a great challenge for the researchers and engineers involved in battery applications in electric vehicles and satellites.  In this study, a semi-empirical model is introduced to predict the capacity loss of lithium-ion batteries as a function of charge and discharge cycles, operational time, and temperature. The model parameters are obtai...

Numerical investigation of the parameters of a prismatic lithium ion battery under load for electrical vehicle

Electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles are a suitable alternative for vehicles with hydrocarbons fuels to reduce pollution and fossil resources. The batteries operate as the driving force for these vehicles. One of the most critical parameters of the battery is computing the state of charge (SOC). The best range for SOC of lithium-ion battery is between 20% and 90%, and charging and dis...

The effects of pulse charging on cycling characteristics of commercial lithium-ion batteries

The effects of a pulse charging technique on charge–discharge behavior and cycling characteristics of commercial lithium-ion batteries were investigated by comparison with the conventional direct current (dc) charging. The impedance spectra and cycling voltammograms of Li-ion batteries cycled by both protocols have been measured. The individual electrodes in the batteries have also been examine...

Electrode Materials for Lithium Ion Batteries: A Review

Electrochemical energy storage systems are categorized into different types, according to their mechanisms, including capacitors, supercapacitors, batteries and fuel cells. All battery systems include some main components: anode, cathode, an aqueous/non-aqueous electrolyte and a membrane that separates anode and cathode while being permeable to ions. Being one of the key parts of any new electr...
